When the person who matters most to you tells you how much you mean to them, it should make you feel extremely happy.
Whether we like to admit it or not, it matters a lot to hear things like “l love you” or “I’m so happy that I have you in my life” from time to time.
The need to hear these types of things does not mean you are weak. It means you are sensitive and you have a heart, and that you simply want to give and receive love.
There is nothing more valuable that the love, and recognition, of our family and friends.
There are many ways to express your love for someone, whether through actions, gestures, the giving of gifts etc. But one of the most powerful ways of expressing this is through words.
Sometimes, just assuming that the other person still loves you is not enough. We need to hear it.
Communication is key to long lasting relationships, and verbal expressions of our emotions are a huge part of that.
The right words at the right time, providing they are genuine, will reassure us that we are making the right decision to give our commitment to that person.
Without reassurance from time to time, doubts and fears can begin to develop and cause some serious cracks in the relationship.
When we hear someone’s words of love and appreciation for us, it’s invigorating, energizing and inspiring. It strengthens the connection and gives you the green light to trust in your partner more.
So if you haven’t been expressing your emotions verbally too much recently, why not make the effort and reap the rewards.
